RES IPSA recommends: Where to Eat in Los Angeles | RES IPSA

Los Angeles, CA—When you travel to Los Angeles, you are not just stepping into the world of television and movies; you're immersing yourself in the real-life magic: world-class shopping, restaurants, beaches, surfing, trails, museums, and so much more.

We're excited to share a short-list of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles for tourists and Angelenos alike. We hope you have an opportunity to explore each of these delicious dining experiences -- ranging from vegan to Korean to Moroccan dishes. Bon appetite!

And of course, if you happen to be in the area, please we welcome you to visit each of our Res Ipsa stores in Los Angeles (Culver City), Malibu, and Larchmont Village for an enjoyable shopping experience.

Crossroads Kitchen

Crossroads Kitchen is the vegan restaurant that meat eaters will love. The dishes are inventive, creative--and above all--delicious. Take for example the vegan spaghetti carbonara. The “egg,” created with help from Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio, is made from a whipped yellow tomato béarnaise sauce. As the fork breaks the faux-yolk, the inside pours out onto the pasta. The result is a how-did-they-do-that revelation. Other standout dishes include stuffed zucchini blossoms, figs & "feta", and calamari fritti made from mushrooms that surpasses the taste and texture that we love about fried calamari.

Moto Ramen

Moto Ramen is a neighborhood ramen spot in Culver City. The handmade noodles in broth simmering for 20 hours will have guests' mouths water as they walk in the door. Some of our top picks include the chicken karaage, chicken bun, spicy miso, vegan ramen, and spicy tonkotsu.

Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits, and Cheese

Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits, and Cheese is a charming neighborhood shop offering a curated selection of wines, spirits, and artisanal cheeses in the heart of Larchmont Village, Los Angeles.

Violet Los Angeles

Westwood's Violet is a restaurant we love to love. Chef-owner Dana Slatkin is a delightful person and kitchen virtuoso. Her roasted cauliflower is the stuff dreams are made of. Violet's classic-yet-modern French fare feels like a spontaneous riff on everything that was fresh at the market that morning. We also enjoy Violet's lively, feel-good playlist developed by Blake Slatkin -- Dana's son and musical producer in LA. To top it all off, the French-inspired setting boasts a romantic two-level outdoor indoor patio that will get you feeling some way.

 Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens

Casablanca Moroccan Kitchen is a lively and genuine dining destination that immerses you in Morocco's captivating ambiance. Inspired by Moroccan culture's rich flavors, vivid hues, and welcoming hospitality, it aims to provide an unforgettable dining experience. Passing the tagine-lined kitchen on the way to the dining room, you will feel like the owners are hosting you in their home. And if they were, there wouldn't be a bit less love in each dish.

Cafe Gratitude

Founded by Terces and Matthew Engelhar. Cafe Gratitude is a restaurant serving organic, plant-based (vegan) food. It is a renowned plant-based restaurant offering wholesome vegan cuisine that promotes various dietary restrictions for a unique dining experience.

BCD Tofu House

LA's K-town is a paradise. Every block has enough good restaurants that it would take a week to try them all. But one we keep coming back to over and over--BCD Tofu House. Specialists in soondobu (tofu soup), and you'll see why we love it. Each stone bowl of soondobu arrives bubbling-hot, with your choice of beef, shrimp, clams, or sausage and your desired level of spiciness (get at least medium, but we recommend spicy!). But wait, there's more – other standout favorites on the menu arethe Galbi (marinated short rib), a seafood pancake (cut 6 ways for sharing), and a bottle of the Makgeolli (Korean Rice Wine). We've been known to eat here three times in a week!
