A favorite of tastemakers like Pharrell Williams, Ryan Gosling, and Kanye West, the souvenir jacket (in Japanese: sukajan) gets is name from the post-WWII years when American soldiers stationed in Japan brought home these ornate, hand-made jackets as a souvenir of their time in the Pacific theater (hence the name).
Iconic design factors include satin fabric embroidered with traditional Japanese imagery like tigers and cherry blossoms. Our souvenir jacket features an embroidered tiger that is faithful to an original 1940s archival design. We offer two options: white-on-white, or blue with striped yellow sleeves. Other features include a metal zipper, elastic wrists and waistband, and opposing embroidered tigers on the front of the jacket.
Each jacket is reversible. The reverse of the jacket is plain satin with no embroidery.
