DRESS GORDON WOOL TARTAN

The Gordon Dress Modern tartan is predominantly green and navy blue with a broad white stripe and narrow yellow stripe. The name Gordon is territorial and the family who took the name are believed to have been of Anglo-Norman descent, first recorded in Berwickshire in the 12th century. The Gordon Clan then moved from the Borders to Aberdeenshire and the home of the Gordon Clan Chief is Aboyne Castle in Aberdeenshire. The wild boar’s head appears on the Gordon arms because, legend says, the first Gordon saved a Scottish king from an attacking boar.

Our wool Dress Gordon tartan fabric was custom-woven for us by one of Scotland’s finest mills. Handmade in New York City, with distinctive finishes like a grosgrain neckband, self-loop and self-tipped. Each tie is 58-inches long and 3-inches wide.
